Our first priority in an emergency is to make the situation safe and stop any damage getting worse. A full repair may need a return visit or parts, and if so we will explain exactly what happens next and agree the cost before continuing.
What it costs
There is no call-out fee at any time: you only pay for the work we do. Emergency, evening, weekend and bank holiday visits are charged at our out-of-hours rate, which is higher than our standard rate. We will tell you the applicable rate before we attend, so you can decide with the facts in front of you.
While you wait for us
- Water leak or burst pipe: turn off the water at the internal stop valve, usually under the kitchen sink. Turn on cold taps to drain the system faster.
- Leak near electrics: switch off the electricity at the consumer unit if it is safe to do so.
- Boiler fault: note any error code on the display. It helps us diagnose faster.
Smell gas? Call the National Gas Emergency line free on 0800 111 999 immediately. It is open 24 hours. Open windows and doors, avoid switches and naked flames, and leave the property if the smell is strong.
