Cookie policy
What this website stores in your browser, why, and how you stay in control. Last updated September 2026.
The short version
This site works fully without any optional cookies. There are two optional categories, analytics and advertising measurement, and neither stores anything on your device until you switch it on. You can choose them independently, and refusing either changes nothing about how the site works for you.
Google's tag manager does load on every page, including for people who refuse. Until you allow a category it is held in a consent-denied state: it stores nothing on your device, sets no cookies and cannot identify you. It sends Google an anonymous signal that a page was viewed, which Google uses to estimate overall totals. If you allow a category, it switches on only what you allowed.
Essential storage
We use one item of local browser storage, named hh_consent_v2, to remember which optional categories you allowed. It contains only those two yes/no answers, is never sent to us or anyone else, and stays in your browser until you clear it. Without it we would have to ask you on every page.
Optional cookies
Our cookie banner offers two separate choices, Analytics and Advertising measurement. Both start switched off. You can turn on one, both or neither, and nothing in a category is loaded unless you have switched that category on. Saying yes to one does not say yes to the other.
Analytics
Switching this on loads the two tools below. Leaving it off means neither is loaded at all.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are most useful. It sets its own cookies and processes usage data on our behalf with IP anonymisation enabled.
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity shows us how people actually use our pages, so we can find the parts that are confusing and fix them. It does two things:
- Heatmaps, which combine many visits to show where people click and how far down a page they scroll.
- Session recordings, which replay an individual visit as a moving picture of the page: mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and which pages you moved between.
Microsoft Corporation provides this tool and processes the data on our behalf. Clarity sets cookies named _clck and _clsk to recognise a returning visit and group page views into one session.
What is never recorded. Anything you type into a form is hidden before it leaves your browser, so your name, phone number, email address, postcode, preferred date and message never reach Microsoft and cannot be seen in a recording. Recordings show that a field was filled in, not what was typed. We run Clarity in its strictest masking mode, and the fields above are marked to be hidden regardless of that setting.
Clarity is only loaded if Analytics is switched on.
Advertising measurement
We sometimes advertise on Google. Switching this on lets us measure whether an advert led to an enquiry, so we can tell which adverts are worth paying for. This uses a Google cookie named _gcl_au. It is a separate choice from Analytics: you can allow this and refuse Analytics, or the other way round.
This is measurement only. We do not use it to build advertising audiences, to follow you around other websites, or to personalise the adverts you see, and we tell Google explicitly that personalised advertising is not permitted for your visit.
Call tracking and call recording
This category also covers Nimbata, our call tracking provider. When it is switched on, Nimbata swaps the phone number shown on the page for a tracking number, so we can see which advert or search led to a call. It stores an identifier in your browser to keep the same number across the pages you visit.
Calls made to a Nimbata number may be recorded. You will hear an announcement before the call connects, and recordings are processed by Nimbata on our behalf. The full detail, including why we record and how to avoid it, is in the call recording section of our privacy policy.
If you refuse this category, Nimbata is never loaded, no tracking number is shown and nothing is stored in your browser. If you would rather not be recorded at all, you are welcome to use the contact form, email or WhatsApp instead.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use the button below to reopen the banner at any time. It always opens with both boxes clear, so whatever you want to keep has to be switched back on before you save.
When your new choice removes something you had previously allowed, we tell Google and Microsoft straight away, delete the cookies belonging to the category you turned off, and reload the page so nothing from that category is still running. Cookies for a category you kept are left alone. After that, only what you have allowed is loaded on any page you visit.
The button needs JavaScript. If it is not shown, you can achieve the same thing by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which removes both the saved choice and any optional cookies.
Forms
Any details you type into our contact form are only sent when you press the send button, and are handled as described in our privacy policy.
